Emergency Procedures -  Handling virtual-in flight emergencies

As stated earlier in the Airmen Operations manual American Virtual Airlines allows for in-flight emergencies as long as our SOP's are followed when it comes to when and how often they may occur, in this section we will go through how a pilot should handle in-flight emergencies. Pilots flying on the VATSIM network must read and understand VATSIM's policy on in-flight emergencies outlined in VATIMS's code of conduct section B6 linked here. It is a pilots job to always ensure the safety of the aircraft and when our pilots  simulate virtual emergencies the priority should be to find the nearest and safest place to land ensuring the preservation of life and property. Most aircraft have their own emergency checklist and it is expected for our pilots to follow their aircraft's emergency checklist as closely as possible. Once landed in order to submit your PIREP depending on your emergency if you are able to go back to the gate or not your aircraft must be in a shutdown and secure state.
