Virtual aircraft shutdown and securing

Once you land at your destination airport you are not ready to submit your PIREP just yet there are a couple more things you must do that we will outline here. It is expected that after you land you must taxi to a gate(you are not required to taxi to a specific gate any passenger gate that realistically can accommodate your aircraft is fine), after you arrive at your gate it is required that you set your parking brake then shut your engines off(run off APU power or ground power if power is required). At this point you want to set your aircraft into a turn around state(ground power on with hydraulics and fuel pumps off, you may leave packs on)or completely off. this leaves the aircraft in a secure state as it would be left in real world operations.

Reporting and documenting on the virtual platform

If you would like credit for your flight is it important to ensure you report and document your flight on our virtual platform, after your aircraft is in a shutdown and secure state you will be able to file your PIREP on our virtual platform. Be sure if you have any concerns about your flight that you report them in the comment sections either before filing your PIREP or within twenty four hours after filing your PIREP, this will let your hub manager or assistant hub manager aware of any issues that may have occurred during your flight. In the event of a system malfunction or client service issue, manual reports can be filed and accepted unless one or more of the following conditions are present:

  • The ACARS application is not working
  • ACARS crashes or malfunctions during flight
  • ACARS does not allow you to file a flight PIREP
  • The website is down during the time of your arrival
  • Prior approval by a hub manager

To support your manual PIREP filing, it is  MANDATORY to provide screenshots of the flight log in ACARS or sibmit proof of flight by attaching a link to screenshots or logs from VOLANTA or SimToolKitPro. More information for how to successfully manual report can be found below.

We understand that malfunctions occur from time to time,so we have established new guidelines for manual reports to be filed. This procedure MUST be followed, or the manual pilot report will be automatically rejected.

YOU MUST PROVIDE DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE THAT YOU FLEW YOUR FLIGHT FOLLOWING OUR PUBLISHED TIMETABLE FROM A RELIABLE SOURCE FOR YOUR PIREP TO BE APPROVED. IF THE EVIDENCE YOU PROVIDE CAN BE EASILY MANIPULATED, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT SOURCE AS PROOF. RELIABLE SOURCES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
• For all ACARS systems (including Volanta & SKTP) you can send a screenshot of the FLIGHT
RECAP, or a screenshot of SmartCARS3 FLIGHT LOG.
• A screenshot of your ongoing flight taken from the “Flight Details Page” within the
CrewCenter. You can easily obtain it by clicking on your Flight Number below the Map
or by selecting your flight on the Map and then clicking on the Flight Number that will
appear.
